Dang....you guys have some CRAZY insurance companies here. When we were still in the states I had my old '99 Mustang GT insured FULL coverage through USAA and it only cost us roughly $936 per year. That is approx 592 pounds. And it was a 5 Speed, 320 Horse V8, with shorty headers, full stainless flowmaster catback exhaust (H Pipe), 17x8" wheels, BBK Cold Air Intake, and EXTREMELY dark window tint....you couldn't even see me inside the car if my face was pressed up against the glass!

I'd also like to mention that it was $78 per month for not just the Mustang....we also had a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee (5.2L V8), and a 2004 Pontiac Vibe all through the same company. We got discounts for being married, then we got a discount for having multiple vehicles, and then we got a discount for having a baby. Then we got another discount when my wife turned 25. Also, the insurance rates get a little cheaper for us every time she "ranks up" within the Military.

but what we spend on car insurance we save on health insurance.

We all Do have to pay very costly insurance costs in the UK so always check before you buy. That old ford would be ok for a trailer and private use. Would not fancy the car on the road.Maybe a farm.

Big yes for the old purple pop. and the old plate on it.They may drop the price quite a bit because of the tax and mot. Pintos 2 litre are good lumps and easy to mod. That one would make a very good daily driver to. Loads of interest at the shows for the days out not for the drag runs.

Do they come with a good music box them red ones with a me-car-no spoiler. You also need to save up for a set of new tyres for it to. Its great to buy a mini 1000 and drop in a mg metro 13 lump in it.

The gf and I are currently lusting over a Chevy Impala Coupe, like the one in the TV series supernatural. Alas, seeing as I'm 20 with not much money, and she doesn't drive, I don't think it's going to happen :) I'll check insurance later, should be a laugh.
