Indicators And Hazards Stopped Working!

Looking through the Haynes diagrams, none of them seem to be the correct diagram for my car...They all have two flasher units instead of one. Anyone know where I might find the correct one?
And I'll go and have a look see if I can trace the wiring from the radio. I'll take some pictures if I can...might help.
Cheers guys

Description of problem (please be as in depth as possible):
Just bought another Mini (this time a working one!), however already something has gone wrong! (It's never simple owning a mini is it)
My brother bought me a new stereo system to go in the Mini for my birthday, so he went and plugged it in while I changed the indicator lenses and bulbs. Everything appeared to be fine....stereo turned on (although had no speakers to test sound), and the rest of the electrical system seemed fine. I asked my brother to turn on the hazards to check the new bulbs were fine. The indicators were fine to my recollection (although he might not have had the stereo plugged in at that point) but when he tried the hazards, immediately the stereo turned off and now neither the indicators or the hazards will work. Theres nothing at all....no clicking, no flashing....as if they weren't plugged in.
At first I just suspected a blown fuse, but the fuse box was fine...no blown fuses. Then I thought it might be an inline fuse, but I didn't know whether the radio would have anything to do with the indicators/hazards, and then I didn't think the hazards and indicators would be on the same circuit. Only other thing I can think of is the flasher unit itself, but again, I thought the hazards and indicators ran off separate flashers.
Looking further up the wires that connected to the stereo, there are one or two pairs of wires which are simply twisted together and therefore could have been shorting on something....dunno if that could be the source of the problem. I've taped the exposed wires up with insulation tape for now.
Thanks in advance
Any non-standard parts that might be involved with the problem?

Hi Womble
I found the black flasher unit under the dash on the right hand side of the steering wheel clipped to the bulkhead. I pulled it out of its connector and back in again and by magic it all started working again. Thanks for your link

Spent a good while this afternoon with a multimeter and some wiring diagrams, trying to trace where all the radio wires were bodged together into the loom.
Seems to me that the radio is indeed wired into the indicator circuit (as suspected) as there were 2 purple/orange wires and 1 purple/white wire going into the plug connector which led to the stereo (along with a few black earth wires) before I unplugged it.
Checked for any voltage from those wires....didn't seem to show anything although the multimeter did register 0.01V or 0.02V for a second or two when the wires were first touched together....not sure if this was just a false reading or whether there was actually something there. There is certainly power at the inline fuse under the bonnet (12.7 volts), but it's hard to trace the wires between the plug and the fuse because they are taped up and dissapear off behind bits of dashboard trim and soundproofing/carpet.
According to the wiring diagram there should be a point where the purple/white wire connects with 2 purple/orange wires....could this now be a new bodged location where they meet, in which case they need re-attaching?
Did also check the black relay under the dashboard, and the big pink one. Both looked in very good condition....still shiny contacts etc. although I guess there could still be a problem with them....
Any suggestion would be appreciated

If you try that to eliminate the switch?

The problem seems to be a break in power somewhere between the inline fuse under the bonnet and the switch. It's just tracking that down that seems to be the difficult part!
I've taken a few photos of the plug that the radio wires were plugged into and the wires coming out of that. Click them to make them bigger.
