Just some general questions.

I have a 998 from and 80's city e with standard pistons i was wondering what CR i need to run a supercharger and what output can i get from a supercharger on it.

Also if i was to do a 1275 supercharged what CR would be needed and what output can be got from that, also will 10" wheels be ok with the power output.

I would need the engines to be reliable so not running at silly boost, just a good amount of boost to give the engine a bit more of a kick.

Thanks

Jackman

Compression ratio. Its the ratio of how the fuel/air mixture is compressed in the block.

:wales: some kits such as the minispeed supercharger kit will work on the standard compression ratio asuming its a standard engine and will work reliably as long as you dont change the pulley size which alters the bost

you would need a pully and some way of attaching it to the carnkshaft wheel type thing also you would need a carb that can be pressurised erm and a very good condition bottom end on your engine because it will have to deal with a lot of torque, there are other things and this is quite vauge but should help a bit. the guys over at turbominis.co.uk might be good place to get more info.

hi
i can do a 1000 cc kit to give around 100 bhp
inc modified 12g 295 head small bore manifold and all other parts required
it would be £1850
will not be transferable to a 1300 though

From Stuart, the guy at Vmax Scart... Sounds good to me really... maybe bit on the expensive side for 100bhp. What you think

Yeah you could buy the parts cheaper but its all the manifolds you require and modifications to make it work.

Strikes me, that folks are again forgetting that Stuart Gurr developed a kit, one that he makes the parts of, that'll fit and work first time, and also suplies the appropriate components, including a head, belt, pulleys, etc (and i think - a Brand-New carburettor aswell ?)
When you start adding it all up, and coupled with that little thing called profit, then £2k doesn't seem that bad IMO.

I'd never buy it - as i've the skills to make it myself. How would i make it? don't know - only briefly looked into it and realised how large the Bini Eaton blower was with the integral water-pump gearing and intake manifolding all attached. That coupled with the intercooling challenge, i decided to leave it (still got a bini unit sat on the shelf mind - you never know...)
