Running Weak!

Is there any way of adjusting the mixture on a mpi mini as mine is running slightly lean?!

not unless you have a mapable ECU

How do you know its running lean?

The spark plugs are white. cant really tell when im driving but its been like that since i bought it, so i wouldnt really tell.

do we know the history of the car

Have you just bought it?

is it running weird or doing anything that makes you suspicious

historys all good,had it just over a year now and it runs sweet, (well when i put the engine back next week), but i was just curious as i thought it might not be performing at its potential. dc

Might be the O Rings in your pressure regulator on the fuel rail, they have a habit of perishing and then don't maintain the correct pressure (3 bar). It is said to be a "non-repairable" item and you have to buy the complete fuel rail !!! It can be done but you have to be very carefull doing it. Alternatively, replace it with an adjustable regulator (PBV), note that you have to cut the fuel pipes to splice it in.

But you can replace the o rings, you should replace them if you ever have to dismantle fuel rail, part no BAU5325 cost £1.55 inclusive of vat from Xpart dealer.

Sorry, I was referring to the O rings inside the regulator, not the ones at the end of the rail (or begind the injectors)
