I saw that and I thought that as it only bolts to the lock spindle that it would come off pretty easily with a sharp tug on the bootlid. And as I said before it doesn't protect from someone undoing the hinge bolts at the bottom

Right well I'm gonna go for a double skin fiberglas boot lid.

I had a look at prawns the other day. He's got a single skin one that that has no where near enough strength in it or a daily drive thats gonna have alot of stuff in the boot. I'v had a4 bits of paper that were less flimsy lol. Mind you it is stupidly light. Anyway he agreed that a double skinned one would be best for what I'm after so next time I go to mini speed I'm gonna have a look at them and maybe buy one depending on money.

I bought the one from minispares. double skinned MK1 one, it has captive nuts bonded in so you can use the standard lock and side straps. Its thick enough just to drill and bolt to the standard hinges too. You have to do a little bit of work to get the lock to fit, but its better to trim back than not enough. The fit is pretty good, sticks out slightly in the top right corner, but seals well and i'd recommend it.

Cheer for that mate. You got a link to it? I could only find the single skin one on their website. How much did you pay if you don't mind me asking.

Would a single skin carbon boot lid be any stiffer than a single skin fibre glass one?

Has anyone got a link to these loackable bonnet pins?

i had a single skin carbon kevlar and they are actually quite floppy. Fibreglass feels brittle but the carbon are flexible. Very light but odd.

sold it in favor of steel

Right well I went to MiniSpeed today and they dont sell the double skin ones. Only the single skins which are way to floppy. So I think I'll order one from minispares instead.
