i have spent a lot of time speaking to insurance companys this week as im thinking about changing car but wanted to know how much insurance would cost, the way they work out quotes seam illogical to me as for my mini with all mods declaired and a 100bhp i can't find any one who will insure me for under £300 a year even though in 26 nearly 27 been driving ten years this summer and have no crashes or points on my recored but i can insure a 300bhp hotrod for £275 a year. how does that make sence. its well worth calling around though the first quotes i got for the mini and the rod were close to a grand.

We approached Footman James @ Bingley Hall and asked for a quote for 998 Mayfair with Hi Lo's and 6x10's

TPFT just over £400 and fully comp £815, 3000 miles per year, anyway we asked for 1275 as well and it was the same apart from a slight increase in excess £50 to be exact.

Now this is for a 17 year old plus one day and full licence now this sounds really good but the only fly in the ointment is the lack of no claims if he moves onto another insurance company after a year or more, not really what he needs as no claims is what makes for cheaper insurance.
