We're all fans of the 60s British icon that is the Mini, and as we must be everso slightly clinically insane , a lot of us name our cars

But, how do you choose if it's a boy or girl?


Ellie is so named as she's a Limited Edition (LE) so she had to be a girl , and our Clubby estate - Constance - is named after the little old lady who was the previous owner.

What's yours called and why?

Luna has been Luna since the day I bought her, I've no idea quite why, the name just came to me and it stuck. So she's a girl.

And Doris is named after her old lady owner!

I think my Midas might be a Zoe.

That's the daughter King Midas turned to gold so seems the most appropriate. Unless he had another daughter he turned to poo.

My mini thirty is named betty, as my girlfriend named her and decided an old woman would be the most likely driver due to the bownish appearance so named it after said woman. lol, its grown on me now though!

Mrs Pooky had named her Mini before we'd even won the eBay auction! Thank goodness we'd won or we'd never have grown to love Henrietta as much as we do now

My Mini, 67, however has never had a real name and regularly changes sex although I'd probably say he's a boy

My mini's genders have been decided by their names, which have been written on their number plates for me.

The first was VicKY (VKY)

And now I have the lovely Arthur (ArTHur)

I have to say Vicky was clearly a girl mini, and Arthur is equally clearly a boy!

mines called Zebedee, it just seem to suit him, and he has been rather cheeky since!! (not even on the road yet!!) plus with having MDF in the plate, he quite clearly is a boy!! ; ) (even thinking of getting a window sticker saying 'have you got wood??' )

and my other half's mini is a girl called Joey, which suits her as she can be temperamental at times!!

Mines called George (GeOrge) due to the registration plate, as it seems to suit him, he's also my first car and is much fun!

My previous mini was called Dennis named after my granddad also was red and black so suited it too. Now i have a clubman no idea what to call it?! Can’t say it suits a girl’s name?

Having said that, mrsminimadjonesy did call her mini Dougal on acocunt of the tartan seats

i think that you should own the car for a week, and then chose the name as you think, how it acts, feels etc, i personally think u cant name a mini the first day
