Hi Jack,

It was a part of the break mount at the back, so when looking at it, you have the disc plate sitting just within the break mount, and all it was, was the mount and the plate vibrating together which caused the noise, so all i did was ease the plate away from the mount and coated it with grease in between both. Best thing is to take the wheel off, jack up the car and have a proper look.

No i didn't encounter any pulling while the noise was present, that might be your tracking, might of been nocked out due to the *poop poop* roads at the moment, though not sure so don't take my word for it, best thing is to post it on here and make it a new subject, your get some answers then.

Regards

Martin

If your pads get a bit worn and the outside of the discs have a build up of rust you can get a grinding noise when you brake.

I have the same problem!
I have been trying to find out what the clanging noise was for AGES now but always thought that it was the metal plate underneath the door handle as that's a bit loose!
But It's gotten really bad now and as you say you can just take them off I have decided that I will do that.
Thanks!
JakeT
