ok i have seemed to of got stuck here..i have removed all bolts off lower rear subframe and removed tower bolts, and engine upper bar .. but the sub frame just wont move... odd...is there some little bugger i have forgotten ...i final task is to swap over rack...so i only need to drop it a bit..

Unbolted the dampers?

Also just slacken the front tear drop bolts aswell.

I didn't have to do anything with the gear linkage when I changed my steering rack.

Not necesary with a rod change (although may strain the mounting) I needed to remove my Remote change

thanks all ... to cold and dark .now and i dont think the people next door would be to pleased...on the drive maintaince after 11.pm ..dont think so..

ok this seems a pain ...i have undone everything from tower mounts..front subframe bolts .steering column . engine bars. gear rod......but it just wont drop on the driver side.i have jacked body up but the engine just seems stuck even with a crow bar......all that is left is the down pipe...

I did mine over the winter and getting the subframe low enough required force. Mine is a solid-mounted one though, so no give at all unless the bolts are out..

as said, unbolt the front dampers too, and keep an eye on the clutch hose, also the metal brake pipe that runs around the subframe.

if it all looks ok, get a bar in there and lever the from down, watch the paint and your knuckles!

well all done ...still wasnt moving enough .. even with nothing holding it in place it still wouldnt freely move...lets hope this fixes that nasty noise...if not and it was something else ..ahhhhhh

How much did you drop it by in the end? Did you manage to drop the drivers side a bit more then?
