i have mine in the ash tray

Posted Image

just cut a slot to fit cable and that holds it .very cheap and easy to do.not sure what ipod i have tho if yours is the same!

i think i have that very same HU do you have a remote by any chance??

Now that is awesome!!! because i don't use the ash try at all...kinda useless really sitting there doing nothing.

Might have to have a tinker tomorrow...see if I can get it to work!! I have a nano so need to find something to hold it in!

I'm doing the exact same thing for my iPhone however I'm taking a step further and I have purchased a dock that I will be taking to pieces and fitting into the ashtray. The idea is that it will be a self contained unit with internal, hidden wiring.

I was thinking that it could potentially something I could sell to people if they're interested in buying one from me. Failing that, I'll probably do a build guide so people can copy me.

Luke.

Depending how practical you're feeling you could always knock up something like this............

I just left a narrow cutout in the back face of the centre console to accomodate a headphone jack so now you simply plug it in and push the ipood upwards into the cutout. Within arms reach and very snug..... so snug in fact that it doesn't fit now that i've put a plastic case on the ipod :)
