I tried to fit the new swivel ball joints and I found that Minispares had not supplied enough shims for them! So I dug out the old hubs and salvaged old shims. I hope I will have enough now...

Old and to be reused shims

I had JUST enough shims with the old ones, phew I was lucky. So the front is ready to go on the car now. It may miss some things, but the goal is just to put the Mini on its wheels for now.

Now to the rear!

I damaged threads when dismantling, so I repaired them

New shaft, bearing and seals with the radius arm repair kits.

And also new handbrake quadrants. This radius arm is ready to go.

So there it goes

Looking really good, you have broken the back of the project once you put the welder away and get the spray gun out. Keep up the good work.

Why did you enlarge the rear wheel arches ? I thought you only had to do the front ones for the sportspack and 13" wheels.

True, you don't have to cut the rear, but you can, to give more clearance for suspension travel if you run a lowered suspension, which I will.

Thanks mate! I still can't believe one day I will drive a complete Mini. 6 months ago I thought I would do bodywork and welding on this car for the rest of my life.

Shock. I spent too much time trying to make the top nut grab... the threaded rod could be 1mm longer it would be so much easier!
