Craig the hudge Marine tank was my mates not mine.My dad kept tropical fish in the old days. All the old tanks leaked to.Best i ever tried was a Hex Tank with stand S.Fighting fish 2 in same tank and a top gravel feeder they got on all well.Bought some new plants and got them rare white things no chem worked from shops lost my fish and gave up.If my mates new small Marine comes my way in the future i will try again.Did not like the loss of my fish.Had to put them down myself in the end .Still do not Know what that white spiders thing was please advise me it was bad to watch. It must have come from plant eggs.Even the expensive tank got smashed to bits.

Oh right, still cool though! how did the fighters do in the same tank as eachother? we've got about 20 now all in divided tanks, never tried them on there own but i guess if the tank is big enough their not so territorial? Hmm, ive heard alot about them, i think they're just an uncommon parasite that over runs the tank eventually, 100% water change and boil of all ornements/substrate could have helped but then the ammonia and nitrate spyke after 3 days could have killed the fish anyway due to the tank being uncycled ;)

Yes craig the Ammonia was the only fix.You have to try them together its so rare to get 2 that love each other in an open tank.It was a big tank for 3 fish one of them hex black tanks fully filtered and aired with 2 pumps. The gravel fish just stopped at the bottom very happy..The fighters like the top of the tank. They were dif Cols. and the same size if things had gone well i think they would have made eggs.I will post you on friends about the d. that killed them. Its a bit much to explain here hope you can find an Answer to it for me.Not kept any fish since that myself. Thanks

Yes Criag i think the space in the tank was the main reason they got on well. They loved there own areas but mixed well together. A big watch to start with to make sure safe.Thought i would have to divide the tank but all was well.May be even the shape of the tank helped being a tall Hex shape.Air block each.
