[/that s the whole point in VOSA pushing it as a government directive.
Hence Landrovers, VW's and mini's. Wouldn't be happening if tax exemption didn't cover some of the range.

the MOT will only test a few things and as long as brace bars are fitted should pass a MOT, a MOT won't give you a Q plate

but if mr DVLA or VOSA catch up with you that's another thing

it's also worth checking your insurance is ok with this type of body mod with out and IVA certificate

if we all shut up about iva/sva/abc/123 etc etc it'll all go away. like it always has. the more you mention it, the more they'll do something about it.

if it came to me with brace bars fitted i would have NO reason to fail it as long as the bars are fitted nice and securely to a nice solid point . no rules in the book give me a reason for rejection . (brace bars being quality made not i bit of 1mm box left over at the back of the shed )

no brace bar would have to be a fail, but a quick look in the bible would clarify this

you take the chance. how many times in the years you've been driving have you been stopped by vosa?

The problem is VOSA are being proactive about it. They have, from what we have been told, have turned up at various land rover/off road events and started looking around cars and if they feel they have been modified too far, have told them to report for a full inspection. How long till the pitch up at the L2B, or Bingley etc.

The MOT confirms that at the time of the test, the vehicle meets the minimum acceptable enviromental and road safety standards required by law.
As regards body and vehicle structure, it should be free from excessive corrosion and damage in spacific areas and have no sharp edges likely to cause injury.
It will depend if the tester see's the removal of your inner wings as damage.
We "modify" our cars and mostly drive them on public roads, there's hardly any rally cars with Q plates on and they've been highly modified and are subject to the same MOT if they're to be driven on public roads.
I'm thinking mainly about classic rally cars.

if building a rally car with new parts it would be given an age related plate ( a new one) thats why you don't see rally cars on Q plates

we have a few Z cars on TMF that are new regestered
