Nitrogen is NOT an inert gas!! Lol

And your tyres will be at lower pressure when cold!

If you heat a gas up it expands, if you cool it it shrinks, ever heard of the Ideal gas law/Boyles law??!!

The term inert may also be applied in a relative sense. For example, molecular nitrogen is inert under ordinary conditions, existing as diatomic molecules, N2. The presence of a very strong triple covalent bond in the N2 molecule renders it unreactive under normal circumstances. :)

Chemistry's interesting but it's all about that avatar really...

air is the general term for that mix of gasses, which does contain 'heavy' gasses, so air HAS to be heavier than pure nitrogen.

Admittedly you probably wouldn't notice the difference.

Simple experiment would be to fill a balloon with nitrogen and see if it floats or sinks, it will sink I am quite sure. If the idea was to use a lighter gas than Helium would be the way to go, or Hydrogen but we know how that worked out for the Hindenburg :) . If you want to get better mileage from the gas in your tires just put more of it in them. I actually like the idea of the Nitrous Oxide. That way you could stop off for a whippet when it was time to fill the tires.

For a road car I think Air=Nitrogen

I think marketing this so that people believe their tyres hold pressure better is a bad thing, it will just make people think they don't need to bother checking their tyre pressures any more. Tyres should be checked on a weekly basis, if you have a dodgy valve or a slow puncture is nitrogen going to help?! I think not!
