After trying to sell my mini with no joy im contemplating taking the engine out and selling them both seperately. So i would very much appreciate any opinions on valuation from the average mini enthusiast.
So here we go, The engine is a 1380 mspd 'street sleeper' i.e THIS with a couple of added extras. They include
Crankshaft- As 'ss' spec plus wedged, bladed and polished.
Conrods- As 'ss' spec plus lightened and polished.
Flywheel- As 'ss' spec plus lightened
Final drive- 3.44
Cylinder head- As 'ss' spec plus ported and polished and fitted with RS cams.
Ancilleries- K1100 throttle bodys, DTA self programing ECU & custom wire loom, high compression leads & spark plugs, SC Ex manifold. Lightweight altenator.
Also has a carbon fibre spark plug cover with 16v badge.
Heres some pictures.
That should do for now i think, any questions, any more picture requests or any valuation input welcome.
Thanks,
Ant

I would be interested in this motor complete and ready to run (including engine management etc) for my car if you would ship to New Zealand depending on the price.
Come up with a price and PM me if you like?

Pm sent. Let me know what you think. I should also point out the air filters are no longer on the engine as they didn't fit inside the engine bay.

There was a mk1 mini sold on ebay last year with a similar engine built by kad along with a load of other kad stuff fitted, i dropped out at £7k and it went for £8500 The shell itself had an aluminium floor and the cage was a work of art, i personally couldn't afford to go any higher on the car but thought it was a bargain. I would have thought 50% of this for the engine £4250+ but i may be well off the mark. At the end of the day if i was in the market for this serious bit of kit and had the money i would be wondering why its for sale with so little mileage/use and as such would consider it a small risk if you get where i'm coming from so would only be offering about 60% of the build cost or i would get one built. But then again i haven't got as much cash as some mini fanatics so who knows.
Not much help really

Thanks for the input guys. Im happy to see you both seem to have similar ideas to mine. Well for the record i quoted the guys who asked £5000 (plus shipping for the guy in NZ). Maybe in hindsight this was a tad high?
Also its a fair point about why id be wanting to sell so soon after fitting it, but to be completely honest its just a case of needing the money.

Well like i said its basically a 'street-sleeper' (£5500 + £600 outright sale = £6100) plus the extras mentioned which id say would take that to at least £7000

As its only done 60 miles would you be offering any warrenty with the engine?
As a rule of thumb 2nd hand stuff is 1/2 the new price, unless its really rare!!
