Anyone got any recommendations for a decent set of vernier timing gear (duplex) for my 1400 bad boy? Gonna need one soon and have some spare cash.

I have been looking on Minispares and the one I was gonna buy is out of stock. :nugget:

OK, so this is the one I was going to buy:

out of stock BOOOO

and this is the recommended one from Minispares as an alternative:

bit dearer HMMM

Has anyone on here ever used the latter type?

Also, is there another, better type. I am not afraid to spend the money if it is worth it, but have no experience of these vernier gear sets??? :erm:

Is a timing belt conversion any good? Have no idea of the power output I will be getting, probably 110-120 BHP I'd say (well, that's the target anyhow)

IMO, the Kent silent chain is the mutts, there have been fears about the wear on these but when I removed mine from the 1330 aft 30k it looked like new.. More info here in this post

Will cost you over 100 notes thou..

Right, I just ordered the latter of the two links I posted from Minispares. I didn't read GW's replies before I placed the order so am a little gutted to be honest. I do think the rota-slide duplex will be fine though!

Fingers crossed!
