Alot of you are saying they are light as a feather when in reality they are not much light than a normal steel shell, because the FG has to be so think to stop it cracking under the strains of everyday road driving!

You have a very good point there Jammy. When Pete and I had ours weighed there was only about 14Kgs in it. and mechanically they're the same except for the bodyshells.

Which I suppose means there is the potential to make a steel shell lighter than a FG one, by way of a FG flipfront, Kevlar roof, CF boot, etc?

there is a lot of metal bonded in the fibre glass shell around the sills and a roll over hoop in the B pilars :smartass:

Got to be a minus purely due to the lack of rust. I only built the pickup because I had one in the garden. If anyone built a good fibreglass replica of a pickup it would be that.
