Hi, I've got a 2000 Cooper sport and got it with only
one set of keys and alarm fob.
Question is where can i get a spare alarm/immobiliser fob?
getting keys cut or changing barrels shouldn't be a problem
but i've had a look on the "bay of plenty" and can't see any fobs,
can you just buy a new one from the suppliers, if so how do
i program it?
on my transit it's simply switch the ignition on and off several
times and then press the alarm fob buttons and job done.
any suggestions please
john.

If it's a two button fob it's the same as a Range Rover. You need to buy one at a Rover garage and get them to code it in for you, Probably going to be about £80 to £100

Just as a thought, I noticed that a guy I know with freelander has the exact same type of fob. So surely if you went to a land rover garage they could program a fob for you?

I had this problem when my only fob broke! There is a guy on here who can supply and then come and configure the fob for you, I'll see if I still have the message from him!

This firm can do the work, they programmed my new MPI remote (the fancy MT2-model fob.)

I've used this company just this week.
http://www.remotekey.co.uk/
Excellent service and they don't need your car... you just send off your immobiliser unit.

My only working fob packed in a few months back and my local Rover dealer charged me £140 for a replacement, £40 for the fob and £100 labour to code it! Felt like I'd been mugged!
