hi guys,

I would like to know how is the halfords' classic engine oil 20w50(the green tin)? they are available in every halfords, very easy to get, so want to use them, but would like to know how is it? good quality?can be trusted?
otherwise, any other brand do you recon and where to get them? im looking for the good quality and easy to get ones.

That's a very good price, but may not be a very good oil

Thats what I was thinking, just I thought there a minimum requirements etc so it cant be too bad. Probably better then the stuff they used when the a series was first invented.

i run it on my 1990 cooper and buy it with a trade card

I use it on my 1995 cooper and its good, you could try duckhams 20w50 but halfords is as good.

All oil has to be made to a standard, the cheaper oil may just scrape through where as
a more expensive brand name MAY exceed it, for an old/ tired engine I would use a cheaper oil.

I use it in my '85, Seems to be ok, looks ok on the road after its leaked back out
