Cheers, I have a few mates with trade cards - I could probably get one myself, so would be good to know.

£16.99, for people.
£13.99 for grease monkeys.
Or 15% off for staff :P which ever works out cheapest

Seems to work fine. And seems to leak less than the 10w40 synthetic that was in there before I got the car.
I know because I still have the oil in a bottle...

I use it, but I buy it in bulk from comma. I think it works out at about £12 for 5l for me, good stuff, I think I have no way of testing it though.....

Get Uni-parts classic mineral oil 20w30 good stuff relativly cheap and theres unipart dealers every where.

This One (unipart oil)

Its probly alot cheaper if you buy from Unipart.

I get it a work free so price dont bother me much free oils better than any oil i have to pay for

Ive got castrol 10w 40 in mine. Its a 94 sprite. Is it ok because going to do oil change soon and ive got a full can of it in the shed.
I would of thought being a later engine it would be ok

any oil is better than no oil & the cheapo wilko oil is good enough for me. anyway, if your mini has the usual oil leaks then you can just keep topping her up & it won't cost a bomb !

i would hate to own one of these new cars where 4 litres of super douper oil required costs £40.00.

Theres big debate on Mini oils... but I use the Halfords stuff and it seems fine. I've got no oil leaks either, which I think is because it's the correct viscosity for an 'A' series engine.

It's very cheap too (but perhaps not as cheap as in the good ol' days..) especially when you consider modern oils. My favourite is when I service one of the latest PD VAG turbo diesels. It works out at around £60-worth just for the oil as the pumpe-duse engines are very fussy. That's about the cost of 5 lots for the Mini!!
