If I knew what the normal pipe size was I wouldn't have asked.... The link above... demon tweeks brass union offers three different hose sizes. I really don't feel like buying all 3 and then figuring out which is the normal size.

in which case im not too sure what your question was in relation to my topic minispeed?

unless you have the same question as to which size adaptors to fit........ and from your link i would guess 6mm would be correct - well that is what i'd be using!

another point is, what size is the tail on the MAP sensor on the Megajolt, i haven't got mine to hand, but is 6mm hose to big for it, im thinking trying to source a 4mm connector and use 4mm ID hose.

think 6mm will be ok, even if a cable tie is needed to secure it. failing that make the pipe coming out of the junction box 4mm?

you can also stretch smaller pipe over bigger tails :)

Sorry David, only just seen this. The bosses I made from 6mm plate, tapped and then ground down to 1/8 NTPF I think it was. The box is now done away with, it leaked and looked crap. All I use now is a few coils of the pipe layed under the carpet (when its in), this helps keep the vacuum fairly stable.

The pipe and fittings I use are 6mm O/D general purpose pneumatic hose from HERE, Its a perfect fit on the MJ MAP sensor and gives a totally sealed install - saves headaches finding vacuum leaks later.

That bloke gives a good service too :) .

Also, I thought I'd just mention that I have 2 spare MAP sensors here. Not that these usually break, just can be difficult to find any if you ever need one.

for mine i used nylon/ plastic/ something material pipe the ID just the right size for the megajolt connection

can just about see if here

then i used a parrelel Y connecter to split it, then at the manifold it was tapped, used tapered push fit connecters, can *just* about see them in the picture perhaps

Arse!!

Just bought some brass items to fit the the manifold! So that guy sells unions hat can be tapped into the manifold and then push fit tubing to.

Hmm may end up buying those anyway.

My plan currently is to have the manifold drilled and tapped, but to also have them silver soldered to the manifold - to try and keep it old skool looking....

I have both the manifold shown in the picture, and a 5in maniflow. The one shown is thicker than the maniflow. It's been a while since I had the maniflow out so I'm not really sure but I think that it might be too thin to tap.

Well i'm going to try and tap mine - successful or not it will still be brazed to ensure they don't come lose or leak :)
