If no money is been exchanged, then thats fine and a nice gesture, but also anyone taking up the offer should also consider implications of this going wrong......such as welding may not be to MOT standard, welding hazards and safety.
*Please note the above is an example and no reflection on bonkerz welding quality*
Dont want to be all doom and gloom, its a very good geniune offer of someone helping the mini community, but in this day and age, you have to be very carefull about what you do and any implications it may have.

right,
my 19 year old bought a mini clubaman,
hes been tucked up a bit, aas it needs a new engine, plus the floor pans done and the raer sills,
anyway i have bought him the floor pans, but cant weld, (:
changing the engine is no problem, and spent today stripping the car out, (told him i would pay for a respray,
anyway, if you can come to hemel hempstead, im sure he would appreciate the help,
i would by myself a mig, but would take me to long to get used to it,
i can buy the welding wire thats no biggie,
if you could let me know, i would be gratful,
by the way sorry if i was meant to post some were else to say hello before posting,

Its a fair point although I've done a lot of repairs on mine and families minis, plus Landrovers, I tend to shy away when other people ask, don't like the thought of any sort of comeback if something went wrong.
I remember years ago, cousin was welding his Opel Manta, it caught fire and with seconds the car was ablaze, 2 fire engines turned up to put out a smoldering wreck.
Also its worth knowing what your neighbours are like, last place I lived some busybody reported me to the council for running a business from home, I'd resprayed a car door with cans for my sister, fitted a cam belt to my mums, and points to a mates Landrover, no payment.
Council said doesn't matter shouldn't work on vehicles unless registered to that address. This was down my own drive !!!

If money is going to be exchanged, then bonkerz you need to register as a trader on the forum.

I think it all depends on the neighbours really, I own my own house and still got a letter of the council

This house though only ever had one busybody come round moaning and she lived in the next street
