Bumping this up.
Massive (new) love for this look!
MK2 lights and a slightly-different-from-the-norm reversing lamp definitely!

loving the mini, but more impressed with the video, stunning shots love it
if your head lights flash when you press the brake, it means you got a wrong bulb in the brake light bulb holder, you need the double element type, and youll prob find its got a single element bulb in, i had the same problem and tracked it down to this! lovely looking car though mate!
Hey mate, mini is looking great as usual
, I saw it parked up down some little road in Isleworth a couple weeks ago, but you wasn't in it, you at ace cafe next month?

I thought it's about time I put together a little project thread as I'm always doing little things here and there and also getting stuck on little things. So the short story goes that BiMU used to be called Grover and was previously owned by a few people on the this forum. MattPink was the man that turned it from a Mini City to the Sportspack looky-likey around 5 years ago now.
Here is how BiMU looked before mattpink changed a few things:
BiMU was then turned into this beautiful thannngggg:
So basically it was owned by someone else on the forum for around a year and I spotted it on ebay. It didn't sell and I basically loved the colour, it was either a Beetle or a Mini and I went with the Mini thinking that I would benefit more from a car that had a heater (which I hardly use!) My dad actually traveled all the way up to Middlesborough to view the Mini and then he returned a couple of weeks later to pick it up, at the time I didn't go with him as I had some crazy girlfriend from Canada staying over (long story!) The Mini which I then named BiMU (because of the number plate) became in-separable (wasn't the cause of ex's and I's break-up) and I probably learned the most about the Mini woes and Mini 'yays' within the first year of motoring, which included:
- Breaking down upon entering a massive round-about and having to push it 3/4 around it for my exit, while it was pooring with rain and my hazards not working
- Gearbox giving way 10 miles from home (luckily AA pick-up is free within a 10 mile radius)
- Breaking down in random places
- Fixing one thing and creating another problem
- The massive hole in my pocket from purchasing new parts
So anyhoo... after a year of non-modifying and going to several shows I set out on making it my Mini and adding things which I think represent myself and now BiMU. Pretty much the easiest thing I thought of doing was cutting out some vinyl shaped as paint splats over parts of BiMU which included over the Cooper stickers as I felt that he wasn't a real Cooper more of a City Cooper:
I also went with white stone guards and a pink badge!
After a 2 years I decided that I really didn't like the Sportspack wheels and felt that 10's were the way to go. At the time also didn't have a lot of money (still don't) and found a set of Cooper Replica's that fit over the 8.4 discs (thanks Hayley!) I also took off the Cooper stickers and vinyl.
Now I felt I was getting somewhere and decided on the retro look so off I went finding bits that would make it look older like some European lens covers:
I also craved a roof rack as I really like the Beetle California look, so I found one on ebay and set about putting random things on it for shows:
I didn't like the rack and gave it to a friend. I found another one on ebay and found some other stuff to put on it:
Ah and here's a picture at L2B last year with my local wickedy wicked club The Middlesex Mini Club!
To be continued...
