Sounds interesting!

Not sure the 7 port head and twin 40/45's will suit a turbo build though! They aren't designed to be 'force fed' by a turbine!

I think it may be worth you talking to some of the guys on the Turbo bit of the forum for engine spec. advise.

I think you can get Webers for forced induction, but I am not sure what they are.

I would set yourself a target BHP and try to find an engine that will deliver it. I should think that something with a T3 would be able to kick out more than enough power for a Mini with a standard Metro turbo carb.

You'd just have to lower the compression and raise the boost from the turbo (almost sounds easy)!

The rest of it all sounds spot on though!

I understand what you are saying ed4ran and i were looking at the Arden 8 port turbos and thought that would be quite a good idea you know something different on the road instead of the track, i had a bhp of 130 in mind. Well the plan we had was to have a normal turbo engine and run it in for a while then add the 7 port.

Talk to Bill Richards about 8 ports, he a well renowned expert on them (in fact MiniSport asked him to develope their 7 port). A 1300 8 port would be well capable of 130 bhp (at the wheels) with bags of torque. Won't be a cheap engine though.

Also, I'm not sure theres even room under a round nose for a 7/8 port and a turbo?

Well looking at the Arden 8 port there seems to be room i plan on having the turbo higher up near to the top of the rocker cover near the vent and the same with the intercooler to create less turbo drag. I think it will work but i would appericate everyones imput. CJ

Definitely talk to Bill if your looking at a Arden 8 port, last time I spoke to Bill a couple of weeks ago he said he had just spent the last 2months building nothing but Ardens!!

Even miniSpares say talk to Bill Richards! (Link)

WE RECCOMEND USING ONE OF THE TOP TUNERS SUCH AS BILL RICHARDS RACING WHO HAVE DONE MANY OF THESE MODIFICATIONS.

I think the 7 port is more of a direct replacement and they say they should fit under a normal bonnet. :erm:
