LOL I got use it after two years...just my other half keeps bringing it up so though I couldn't deny the fact I need to sort it out lol

Been sorting out other stuff before hand on Blink....last owner left her need quite a bit of work and I've customised her a fair bit :trooper:

Is there a picture of blink as she is now on here??

O and the 2 wires on the harness are colour coded white/black and white/brown..just cut out old and tin (solder ends) then solder the 2 wires together...easy :)

Ok i fitted the new sensor and cut and replaced the old harness with the new one...

And yup it works, the fan is now only kicking in when it needs to, not all the time.
Also the engine seems to idle better and run better...(the old one must have been telling the ecu somthing) maybe someone could elaberate for me ??

the fix is easy, with limeted amount of mechanical/electical knowlege only took me 40 minutes

All good

Elaboration!

If the sensor or wiring fails to the temperature sender it cause the fail safe or limp home mode to activate. This mode causes the fan to run all the time (just in case the engine is overtemp). The ECU also increases the fuel as the engine might be cold (a little like the choke being on) this causes bad fuel economy and more frequent trips to the petrol station. You sometimes see a mod chip on fleebay that states it will increase engine output in seconds for really cheap this is normally a resistor that sits in circuit with the coolant temperature sender and tells the ecu its running colder than it is, thus increasing the fuel. Chances are it wont make any differance to the bhp though.

is this ok for you

chris -_-

ooooooohh...my mpi doesn't have the fan issue but it does seem to over rev when idle. sometimes if i make like i'm going to pull off by releasing the clutch a little and moving forward a bit, then stopping...the idle goes to normal.

could one of these help me or is it mainly for the fan issue?

thanks
andy.

Hard to say Andy...
Try and get a code reader onto it.....or is there anyother symptoms?

Could be a number of other factors here
