Probably not because the MPI uses a different style alternator. Something like an MGF might be the same fitmet though, I know the MPI used a k series style oil filter, so they might have used other parts from different Rovers?

Would you happen to know the part number of the stock MPi alternator? I wonder if there is a chart some where that cross references the fitment of the MPi parts? I don't want to use a stock one as I need more power.....100 amps or more. I'm also wondering if there is an alternator from a car that was marketed in the US that would fit. I know Saturn has an alternator that fits the standard A Series.

A1151-65 Looks like it was fitted to a couple of Rovers like the 214 and 414, but only in 65 amp guise.

i have a saturn 105amp cs130 on my 84 998 carb, bolted in and only had to rotary the case mounts, and it charges at 14.4v vs the stock mini one at like 13.8v on a good day
had to change the wiring to the alt but it not a big deal it was ez
