Recently i bought 5 Superlight 6Jx12" alloys, from (you guessed Midland wheels) and some 165/60/12 falken ze912 71h. Then today took 'em down to my tyre fitters and they cant get them on the rims. They used there machine and it wouldnt work then they tried using wheel crowbars and they still wouldnt go on, so i need some advice on what to do. If i got Yokohama's would that work?

you need a tyre machine with the 3rd arm/power arm to fit tyres on these rims, and an operator that knows what he is doing, you should see the rims we use karting, 130 fronts and 260 rear

Hhm heating the tyre up would make it more stretchy, but to get that stretch it surely would change the properties of the rubber in the tyre?

it would change a lot of hings in the tyre, it would need quite a bit of heat to get it to stretch, personally if i saw this being done to tyres that were going on my car, i wouldnt let them go anywhere near the car!

Oh dear, i might end up phoning MWS and ask for a refund or for them to fit the wheels for free. But most likely they'll turn around and say no to the refund, and i gotta pay for them to fit them :)

slightly off topic

This is the Beast of a machine you want to be using or its predicesser. The smaller ones ok as long as it has the two arms you see at the end when hes re fitting. But im so fast using the machine now altho i still prefere to use the leavers as i feel more in control. Set of 22" deep chrome range rover rims un boxed built up and ready for balanceing in under 10mins with out damage assumeing all gose well.

Ring MidLand wheels and complain tell them that you tryed several tire places and none were able to fit. The problem is most likely to be the well is not big enough. Tipical cheap designd wheels have this problem.

As they say they can fit them ask them to do it for you, but before you ask if it is posible for them to do it Explaine to them all the trubble there wheels have caused you. Or even better ask for a Refund to buy some decent rims

Long Sutton how far away is that from Market Deeping? I have just got fitted 165x70x10's )might be 65's)to my sons 6x10 alloys. They did not use the machine to lever the tyres on but instead used a hand held 25 ltr compressed air cylinder with a wide flat nozzle and quick release valve.

Basically the rim is clamped to the normal machine then the tyre fitted over as normal. They then raise the tyre up slightly to contact the inner rim pointed the beastie into the tyre and released the compressed air and bang and i mean bang one tyre fitted.
