Here is what the nice gentleman found.

Test class:
IV
Reason(s) for refusal to issue Certificate

Nearside Headlamp aim too high and too far to the right. (1.6)

Offside Headlamp aim too high and too far to the right. (1.6)

Offside Headlamp insecure (1.2.4b)

Nearside Rear Braking system leaking (3.6.A.1)

Rear Rear brake application uneven (3.7.A.5c)

Nearside Rear brake recording little or no effort (3.7.A.4a)

Nearside Rear parking brake recording little or no effort (3.7.A.7a)

Parking brake efficiency below requirements (3.7.A.9/10)

Advisory Notice issued

Slight play in offside steering

Slight movement in front subframe mounts

Surface corossion to most brake pipes

Windscreen washers poorly aimed

Oil leaks

Underside of vehicle at various stages of corossion and repair and heavily undersealed in places

Rear exhaust mounts perished

Non standard exhaust system fitted

The thing which I was surprised with was the aim of the headlights being a fail point. I think I may need to ask them to adjust them prior to the retest.

So some jobs to be done very quickly.

Don't get disheartened, its not that much. Maybe a rear wheel cylinder, beamset headlights and secure one, and sort out handbrake.

Could have been worse, never heard about the non standard exhaust in an MOT before.

I've just replaced my rear wheel cylinders today! Leaking, that's the reason my breaks weren't very good.
It didn't take long to change at all, and it's pretty easy to get the head lights adjusted.
I took my car for it's mot and they never said anything about the non standard exhaust. It's a stainless sytem with a Fletcher DTM on. But I do still have the cat on it....

I got told about corrosion to my break pipes, he said they need to be changed one day but serious yet. Also I was told that there was sings of corrosion underneath but I expected that for a 15 year old car!! Anyway, you should be fine. I would get the adviosorys sorted aswell tho :dontgetit: Because things can only get worse haha

My Mini doesn't leak either, but then again...it doesn't have any fluids in it, at all!

I've had experience with 3 minis so far, all have leaked oil haha.

MOT doesn't sound too bad sir. Change the bits you need to and waxoyl the underside to prolong its life :P.
