I've got a similar problem, but its all the time! Its not reving properly, it runs fine at low revs but when you rev a lot it feels like its trying but theres no power there and when you pull up at a junction it wants to cut out. The car has been stored in the garage over the winter so could it be anything to do with that? I also had some welding done in the boot so the tank was removed, could it be anything to do with that?

Any help would be great because i really dont know what to do

I've also got a similar problem with my auto mayfair....... keeps spluttering, especially when going uphill, even slightly.. it sometimes helps if you let off a bit, then slowly accelerate. Also, when you stop at a junction, or traffic lights etc, the engine cuts out.
I just got the car today, and its the first time its had a proper run in a while (high wycombe to dereham).
I dont really know much about cars, so any help would be greatly appreciated :turtle:
Thanks

Could have disturbed some crud at the bottom of the tank and its been sucked into the carb, meaning the flow of fuel is limited so runs fine at idle then starts to lean off at top end.
