been looking for a accident damaged mini as i decided it might be better instead of welding up a rotten one, replacing the accident damage on one instead.

but came across this one, shame its been around for nearly 40 years to get written off.

Its has the later roof gutters with the cutout at every corner. A '72 wouldn't have had this, it would have like a slit and an extra lip under the roof gutter on the sides.

all the dash board has been best so must have been a big knock.

would anyone say repairing an accident damaged car would be better than repairing a rusty one?

Depends how localised the damage is and if you fancy jigging a shell. I think I'd rather work on a straight but bit rusty one, for the peace of mind knowing the shell is still true.

My car = http://www.theminifo...showtopic=78979

If you know what your doing then an accident repaired shell is just as good as a straight one. But you need to know where to look for damage and impact areas and how to straighten the shell.

That damage doesn't look to bad (depending weather it taken the roof or not), the baulkhead will more than likely be pushed back and also the toe board pushed up by the subframe.

You cant bid on that one unfortently, because its a cat b breaker you need enviromental licences to purchase the car, its a salvage company so you are buying the car not the parts.

And you have to pay a £40 a year membership fee to bid.
