Today was a productive day with the Mini. Fitted a new choke cable, speedo cable, oil filter, oil and did a bit of rust treatment. I was planning on putting my new swivel hub on at last but discovered that the company I bought it off had sent me a Metro hub instead! So another one is arriving tomorrow for free. Big up to M&M's at www.mini-metro.co.uk for the brilliant service.

Car had its MOT today. Failed unfortunately.
Steering gater spilt. Reasonably easy job.
Both rear trailing arms are loose/failed bearings. Mechanic tightened one side up as the bolts were loose and it was much better after so might get away with tightening them both up and pumping them full of grease.
Fog lamp not working/tell tale broken/incorrectly positioned. Fixed the lamp and tell tale on the spot. Loose wire on the switch. Need to move it from inside the rear window to the rear valance.
Handbrake too much travel. Again tightened on the spot.
No advisories so ive not got alot of work in reality. Hardest job will be the trailing arms if theyre buggered.

Car finally passed its MOT on friday! Total cost including MOT: £103.77. Needed a new steering gater which i picked up for a fiver new and a new nearside trailing arm. No mention of rust at all so im dead chuffed! Heres a couple of pics from yesterday.

Epic bumpage of this old thread. Admittedly i never really put much in here but im now going to drown it in fresh photos! Huge amounts of work has gone into the old girl over the last 2 months at the cost of a large chunk of money. A full respray including new glass, doors, front end, all the chrome has been replaced and all the rubbers/seals/grommits. A new full leather interior. Engine has been professionally tuned on rollers. Now a healthy runner with 81.3bhp! Pretty much the whole wiring loom has been repaired or replaced. Even decided on a name! So please welcome the new Rosie!

Excellent job and hope you enjoy driving it. My last but one mini was called Rosie (but it was a V-reg rose mini)
If pushed to comment I'd say the arches are a tad overpowering. But hey, that interior is stunning. by the way you dropped your keys

Gorgeous colour!
Do you mind if I ask what colour is is? Also, I do agree with teapot. I think it needs slightly bigger wheels to fill those arches.

The interior is stunning! Was it retro retrims?

+2 on the arches, a nice set of group 2s would look sweet on there though.

Top job on that car though, quality interior, and a neat install on the flip front.

I know the arches are a bit large for the wheels but the rear wheels arent spaced properly to fill them yet anyway. Im a wheel stud short (only have 7 long enough as i lost one!). However im tempted to get a set of 12x6s in the new year. I dont want 13s, personal preference.
The flip front is fitted really well. Cost me alot to have it stuck on that well though! To be honest for the price i could have gone back to metal but it has its advantages. Mainly lack of rust and easier engine access if neccessary!
To answer your questions ELMO:
Colour is Honda Fiji Blue Pearl. Its an asian/american market colour. Mica rather than metallic. I can pretty much guarantee that its the only car of this colour in the UK! Perhaps even the only Mini in the world!
Interior was done by Ashley James Autotrim. I would have used Retro Retrims if he would have actually answered my email... Anyway its proper leather on the seat faces rather than vinyl. I love the smell of new leather! I do however know that the dashboard, console and armrest are infact sub-contracted from Custom Consoles (They still have the stickers on underneath). The quality of them is very good! I totally recommend them!

You dont have to, you could just go for wide 10's or wide 12s? They "should" feel out the arches ok if they were 6"

Its a really nice job. I hope mine fits as well when I have it done. Going to have mine removable steal front though. Fingers crossed it looks as good!

Mines a honda colour aswell, not heard of a mini in it either, although mines seems a lot more common.

Your car looks great and that interior is realy nice.

Unfortunatly ahve to agree, on the wheel/arch thing though.

Can you space out your current wheels to fill them, I believe ouster on here has similar wheels spaced out in sportspack arches.

Ive got the spacers already to fill the arches at the rear. The fronts are already spaced. They fill better at the front than the rear. But ive deffinately got a set of 12x6s in mind.
