I'm used to having to take special care, before the stupid car I have just sold to buy the mini (And owned for about 4 months) I had a 71 beetle, which did a rather lot of miles, cornwall and back, took it over to belgium for a show etc. And before that a 69 beetle, which even with special care didn't want to work.

To be honest, I missed having a car I could work on myself, have a pointless tinker now and again and do stuff to without looking like a chav.
The girlfriend always wanted a mini, so I succumbed to pressure!

Hi..an auto box needs a regular oil changes every 3000 miles and If you have just bought one I would get a couple of bottles of engine flushing oiland pop 1 bottle in and take your mini for a 20min run using the the gears Inc reverse and when you get home drain oil (very hot ) and change filter top up with cheap oil and the 2nd bot flushing oil and then do the run again drain oil and fill up with good quality oil (castrol, Penrite, Duckhams 20/50)................what this does is clean out the plannets and oil ways wich get blocked due to bad ownership.....................

I think they'd be pretty cool in traffic and stuff! I'd rather drive an auto Mini than any modern car just for the fact its a Mini anyways.

Never really liked small engined autos, especially the AP box. Sold them when they were new and many did buy them, so not all bad.

when they are working theres very little difference from a manual the missus car was an auto and was fine when it was running however the problem is fixing them when hers started smoking and slipping i changed it to a manual
im told fixing an auto is a specialist thing
the manual is a bit more involving if your chilled and like to relax go for the auto if you like driving and like the feel of the car and like to know exactly what its doing go for the manual

picked the car up today.
Drives lovely to be honest!
It has the drop down thing, so when you put your foot down it drops a gear so it pulls away, so it's still fun around roundabouts!!!!!
It's a lovely car to be honest, the nippyness etc, but also the lazyness when you can't be arsed and just want to get where your going!
