Go speek to your local large taxi company. My best mates dad owns LA TAxies which is one of the largest taxi companies in the north east. We regulaly buy 406's of the drivers for £50 when there just about to scrap them, usually have enough tax and mot on to last a winter then the classic cars can come back out in the summer again when its dryer.

I've got the exact same polo - mine an s reg auto accumulating interplanetary mileage - and it happily pulls a mini - has done so many many times with no issues - polo's a gutless monster but built like a brick sh*thouse - so well up to the job - brakes are perfectly up to it too...
