He's gorgeous mate. I'm getting another bearded dragon soon, hopefully a leapord Gecko too. You really do love your reptiles.

Ps, my birthday is June 9 too

yeh just a couple, i thought i may aswell as i have a spare tank lying around for when they need separating etc, but for babies your looking at getting £15 each if your lucky.

i just went in to say goodnight to rex and see if he wanted a locust, he has a nice way of telling me he;s not quite settled in by whipping my finger. that stung for a little guy. cant wait till he's settled and growing into a monster!!! muhahaha

Hes looks so cute Lol!

Have always quite liked dragons etc. But the thing that puts me off, (Other than the crickets EWWW :-, can't stand the little buggers!) is that you can't interact with them like a dog for example. Or am i wrong? As in, can you let them out in the room, just making sure they don't dissapear down the sofa or anything

And the little ones put me off a bit because im scared i'd squish the thing by accident!

my boyfriend puts his green iguana on a cat harness and walks him down the road, bob loves it (the reptile that is!)

Im more of a dog person myself but you can definitly interact with them, hold them, pet them, play with them etc etc. Plus i think they are easy to keep, are pretty to look at and if you have a nice tank setup make a nice addition to your livingroom funiture!

Extending on what's been said above, I prefer keeping reptiles to dogs and cats etc. Contrary to what people think, they all have thoer own personalities, try have likes and dislikes. I hve an adult bearded dragon who loves to come out and run around, when he gets too cold he'll come sit on my knee or stomach to warm up and he really does snuggle in

I also hve a tokay gecko called jim who is (due to the nature of tokays) quite defensive and viscous. Te beauty of keeping jim is to see him running aroun the tank hunting etc. How many dogs can run up Walls? He's starting to tame to me more now and when I'm brave enough I can stroke him etc

I do realise how big Rex is going to get and I really cannot wait. I have nearly bought a few adults over the ast year or so but I'm always wary about buying adult as I like to know their history and watch them grow up

Rex will more than likley have an open tank where he can come in and out as he pleases. When I buy a house of my own he cam have the small bedroom!

Thanks for the comments guys I thought you'd be interested in something a bit different

Thats a top gift.I have tried a few pets over the years. The 3 Geckos were sold to a local young man who 10 years later spotted me and said he still has the big one alive.Made me happy.
When young i even managed to breed Newts and let them go back wild.
I would like another snake to enjoy.Even tried an adder once NO JOY.

Thanks for the tips guys, glad rex is ok ;)

I see your point about buying young so that they dont have any nasty habbits etc. But if you get a young'un, are they too small to let out? Obviosly they have to get used to you first to build up a trust but if they are quite active is it hard to stop them disapearing?

Thanks
