Hello, introduced myself today, got a R1 mini project. Might be asking a few questions if i get stuck. Its my own design, not a Zcars one.

Hi guys, has anyone got or know whats the bet way to plumb the R1 engine. I have a modified rad with a top and bottom hose and a ally header which will be at the back of the car with the engine. Pictures work best for me.

There are plenty of Motorbike project's going on here, Look for ADE, R1MINIMAGIC, willy DASTURDLY, PETE to name but a few.

You will need 2 lengths of pipe to run down the tunnel and plenty of flexible hose to connect up at each end. Pretty simple really.............

Nice pics, what diff have you used with that? Z-cars use a sierra 4x4 viscous diff. Also have you done the gear ratio calculations for the chain and sprokets you will need? I can give you mine but they may be different to an R1 as im using a hayabusa but im sure one of the R1 boys will tell you theirs as they are standard TALON bike sprockets so you can alter the gearing to suit.

I have 12 teeth on the engine and 40 on the diff sprocket.

Hope this helps......? :smartass:

Thought i'd do a bit tonight. Postman brought me two more drive shafts, took them apart and just need to weld them to my other ones and that's another job done.
Radiator needs looking at next (R1minimagic) you know. Going to get a ally core one me thinks. Alot more to do so will keep you guys posted.

Ah yes thats the one, but might see if there are any other options out there. Might come across something different. Has to sit somewhere close to where my other one is now but a bit more forward.
