looking for some advice here...probably a dumb one though.
Does daily driving in the rain ruin a mini? I'm mainly referring to conditions like now, not in the winter time when there is salt on the roads.
Thanks

NO NO NO thats just not correct. all cars of this era had less rust proofing than modern cars and thi mini is no exception. but to sugest that its gonna rust as soon as it gets wet is just wrong!!!Yes - as soon as it gets wet - it rusts...........
I live in inverness north of scotland and have used my mini every day for the past 4 months in rain snow hail and sun. its still not rusty because i clean it a lot.
Or maybe this is some form of joke by bmcecosse. in which case Ha bloody Ha......

my machine gets cleaned as much as possible (even if it isn't raining), so i'm hoping that's helping.

mines out in rain, sleet, snow, sun any weather as its meant to be.
no point keeping it for sunny days as as you can see we rarely have them, we never really get a dry summer, check how much moss is in your lawn.
and lets face it when all the oil runs out or gets banned and you cant drive anything not electric you'll have wished you'd driven it more

Rinsing the underside and arches is especcially important in winter with the salt on the road but probably wont be much of a problem in summer so you could probably afford to do that once a month.
And dont worry if you get it wet IT WONT RUST ANY MORE THAN IF IT WERE DRIVEN IN THE DRY

There ya go fixed

Best to enjoy driving it, then you'll be better motivated to fix the rust - 'n try not to put 'em to bed while they're still wet.
