genuine rover mini cooper cabrio in blue (the rare-er colour)

mot/tax present

Had re-con engine/gearbox at arond 50k miles due to engine damage. current mileage about 65k

Loads of history etc inc engine recepits

The interior is original as is the whole car but is worn and the body has rust,.

Sill are covers but sound and the floor is good and strong.

Boot floor at hige/valence are has rust and there is some scabbing around the body.
Paint is not excellent.

set of five alloys, couple of tyres not great.

Comes with hood cover (not shown) hood is grey as is the cover.

Have seen some for 5-8k but expect this to be less due to condition.

low mileage, drives well but has scruffy bits

What do you think?

this will be advertised on here for sale once a valuation is found.

I agree nice examples will make £5 - £6K, so get a quote to get it restored, take that off £6K and that will be its approximate value, it will certainly make more money during the sumer months!

What are the door skins, A panels, front panel, wings like? also feel around the rear wheel arches as corrosion there is less than ideal

I know someone that purchased an unmolested one in that kind of condition and he paid £2500 for it, was the replacement engine exactly the same type as the original?

Rear arches are solid without the usual holes at the top

The doors are very straight really but one does have a rust patch the size of a 10p piece.

A panels the same, the front panel is sound but under the lights needs repair.

I will not go by a restoration - value as this would make every mini worthless

This will be a cheap project for someone to make a genuine sounds cabrio from.. Would £3k be over the top?

Engine is from a cooper RSP and not injection, then mated up with injection cam and all the right flywheel etc etc, only difference though is that it has an unused temp sender on the head front

Yep I am at 3 - 3.5 K depending on the condition of the roof.

£3k is a fair price, to be honest thats in line with what the SoG was saying. To get that car back up to A1 condition you'll pay someone around £3k to do it so that puts it at the top end of the price scale.

If I had a spare £3k thats what I'd give(well maybe £2.5k because i'm tight!!)

Roof is in very good condition, even for one of these! there is a small nic of about 4mm that could be repaird to make unoticeable. then its just an adjust here and there and a clean.
Its very good.

£3.5k would be nice but the paint isnt great so I would think £3k and someone would get a nice project?

Will advertise it at £3250 and see what happens.

Yeah will need that probably mate. prob some small areas not noticed too (all minis seem to have these when you dig deep enough lol)

Floor is pretty good as are the strengthening inner sills etc.

Should be a good project for someone.
