Was just a time waster, whats a good sales medium other than ebay?

I'm not keen on the way ebay charges for listing, when you sell and also when you get paid lol, its against ebay rules to ask for cash on collection now.

Its on piston heads and on here.

I thought the phone would have rung off the hook at that price? Guess the economy really is in deep brown stuff?

Gonna give it a polish up and get some fresh pictures to show she probably isnt as bad as peope think.

There is one on the bay that sounds only marginally better than mine and its up for £6k, go figure...

Won't hurt to polish some money into it!!

Thing is £3k is a fair chunk of cash(in mini terms) especially for something that needs work. A buyer will turn up, will just take a bit of time. To get it to fly out then you'll need to get it under £3k(£2950) and that should encourage punters. Really it depends on how much you need to shift it.

E bay attracts the masses of which most are messers, we offered up a 1988 Mpi, not a particulaly nice one I have to admit, it was worth £1500, top bid was £1017.

Once a car has been on E bay and does not sell, it never seems to attract the right money ever again. Its like a CAT E write off (Did not sell on E bay so there MUST be something wrong with it)

Ring around the specialist dealers, we all hold lists of customers wanting certain cars, we will always pay a premium if we can place the car quickly.

My take on the car is this:

The potential buyer of this will probably be female aged 30 -45, the car will be bought by her lover / husband as a present. Your potential buyer is out here, no question. These buyers though will be seeking a car that is virtually mint and will pay top dollar. They cannot be bothered with getting the car repaired, they have no interest in the marque, they just want to see the little lady's eyes light up when presented with the keys

In our experience the car is worth in excellent condition, £4995 as a private sale, £6495 from a dealer. From what has been described £3,000 needs spending on it to bring it A1 condition. I hate to live up to my user name but that car will struggle to sell for much more than £1500 in is current condition, but as we say in the sales game, it only takes one punter to come along with a pocket full of cash.

Good Selling!!!

I think ebay may have had its day a bit. Theres no getting away from the fact that stuff can make a premium on there, however as you say, the amount of messers just don't make it worth while.

(Things must be bad if you don't have a mini 30 to your name!!)

Nice try SOG ;D , Conflict of interest I feel :-

I have had an offer of £2500 from someone who has not even seen it and wanted to give me a deposit there and then.

Its worth £3k and I would break it before taking £1500.

£1500 is a trade buyer looking to do what he does best, make a very good hit on something

I'm not in a rush to sell it but could do with the space, If I was inn a rush, I would put her out at £2500 and have a que of buyers, its laregly solid with tax and mot and a nice hood.

Shifty: yeah I think Ebay has been messed with too much over the years by greed and share holders, It needs go go back to basics a bit.

Mini 30?
