I managed to get hold of the bloke on the phone coinsdently about 5 minutes after leaving a shirty message :(

He said for soem reason his listings have been removed because one of them contained something that went against ebay rules. But they wont tell him what.

He said hes got my order on the pc, it hasnt been sent, and wont be because he hasnt got the money. So he suggested claiming my money back through paypal (Not ebay) because paypal have it stored in the middle. But my paypal account says the transaction has been completed.

1) does this seem correct or a con?

2) how do you claim money through paypal?

All i want is my money back and im pulling my hair out here!

they put money in like a holding account so the buyer pays normally but the seller has to wait 21 days after the transaction or when positive feedback is left to recieve their money.

this has been done to me when ive been selling "high risk items" on ebay. you can claim your money back through paypal.

try and get him to reply to your paypal claim straight away otherwise paypal allow like 4 days for him to reply.

oh, and click on details on your transaction and it should come up with a link somewhere to claim.
if not get the transaction id and go to resolution centre.

hope this helps!

If you do opn a dispute in the future though, remember not to close it until it is a done deal! Happened to someone on here a while ago and the seller told him it was a mistake and that he cold close the dispute, DON'T! Wait for the goods to arrive before closing the dispute.

But, hopefully it won't even get that far!

Good Luck!

Thanks for the lots f help guys and Adam no sweat man. Dont worry about it. *melon* happens :P

Not entirely sure how i got to it but i managed to put a claim through as im pretty sure the seller is a Frauder. I spoke to Paypal on the phone aswell, they said they'll give him 10 days to respond to the claim, if he dosn't, fair game, on the 11th day my money will be back in my paypal account. (Also how do i go about getting th money back into my Bank account instead?)

If he does respond, they decide from there. EIther way they'll keep me posted via email. If he does respond, i cant see it all going in his favor as ive proof that the money has left my accound and has been completed my end of all this. And he hasn't dispatched the item.

When all this is over i'll have a rethink where im getting a Vivarium! :(

This is really common in Ebay, you try to sell something expensive, somebody presses buy it now and Paypal hold the money until you give good feedback, if i was the seller i wouldn't be sending it either end would have told you the reason in the same way as he has. Looking at it from his point of view, Ebay ALWAYS backs the buyer, so you get the item, give bad feedback because he was slow sending it, and he has now not been paid, and has lost a £150 item, so start the dispute and then you'll have your money back in your PAYPAL account, now this is where it turns nasty, PAYPAL will charge you a fee to return it to your bank, so the seller and buyer have lost out, and PAYPAL/Ebay win.

The only way to get him to send it now is to give good feedback before he sends it, then Paypal will release the money to him.

rubbish isn't it? Which is why i don't sell at all on Ebay nowadays.

So if i leave good feedback now will it all go through?

you should still be able to leave feedback if youve bought it and paid before the listing closed.

i wouldnt do it this way now, he wouldnt neccesarily be getting good feedback from me. and its in the hands of paypal. id rather leave it till the time is up then it should be sorted
