Hi, has anyone sprayed their headliner because ive been told fitting a new one is a right hassle. if you have sprayed it what did you use, what was the finish like and is it worth it?
Thanks Ross

Here was my headliner. The previous owner had stuck some fur material to it and one hot day the glue melted and it all just fell off. I was left with a tatty old headliner full of glue:

So I rubbed it all down with a rag with thinners on it to remove all the glue, it ended up taking the colour out of it to, but left a good surface for paint:

I then painted it with black emulsion and a little foam roller. It took a couple of good coats to into the textured surface but it looked great afterwards:

In the 80's, I redid my headliner with shoe dye.
I repainted car blue, i did the headliner pale blue because it was a bit crappy.
Came up well but sadly any pictures have long gone.

Many years ago I painted he roofliner white which was that had turned nicotine brown due to previous owners. Although being dubious I painted it with a pot of white just using a brush and was very pleased with the results, it far outlasted the car and got rid of the ashtray smell! Afraid I can't remember the name of the paint but it was proper paint for the job.

Mine didn't crack at all and it was done 2 years ago now. You can buy vinyl paint in spray cans but it'll cost you more money that way.
Mine was just some decent quality johnsons black emulsion

Done, many with vinyl spray, works a treat. Just make sure the headlining is clean first and then spray away.
