awh ): that mini is a mess really big shame

is it not savable at all?

like reshell?

Skips dad wants to re-shell, but due to how much of the running gear is damaged and the fact when he rebuilt the front end last time he never put the chassis number back on it!!! Vin is there but not the actual number plate. We're looking into it but I'm sure it'll lose out on how many points it'll rack up.

We'll have to see.

Jon.

Looks like he needs a replacement shell. I might know where there is a good completely restored shell in primer for c.£1300. It's in Cambs. PM me if interested.

he's got over it as such, but for me it's just getting worse as im not in employment and every last penny i have went into Sidney, I hold all reponsability for it as it was my fault for letting him drive it

i dont think this is ready to flush down the scraper just yet!!

i know you say youve got no money, but you could strip it down to bear minimum and sell all of the good parts left.
bonnet looks unscratched. spotlamps worth a bit, nice interior - thats worth a load

sell all of that stuff first, then offer the parts left to anyone.
someone may want it for banger racing.

then after that you may have enough to replace it with something at least roadworthy and running. and dont forget your mate owes you a tone to either do the new one up or buy a different one.

i think your car is worth some much more in bits than just take it down the scrap heap, i think its worth more than a trailer as well.

if i lived in lincolnshire id buy it off you.

Really sorry to hear about this Guys.

Sorry that the SID is ruined but glad to hear that the driver is ok and the friendship is still intact - he must have been a good friend in the first place to hand over the keys.

Guess the hardest thing is the loss of a car owned for so long. I've had Sparky for over 7 years now and although I know I could buy another in better condition and do all I want to do, it wouldn't be the same in a different car.

Sorry to hear but well said, he will feel as bad as you do. Hope you two can sort it out and get a mini back on the road with.

Well a fair few of the bits will be going onto the mayfair to get that on the road, and we have been hankering after a trailer for a while so thats probably what we'll do. Like i said earlier that way Sid'll still be at the shows with us!

I just want to crack on and get going with the mayfair, but we need to get it moved to his dad's workshop near my house so we can get the welding done.

Just needs the brakes rebuilding at the front and the top end of the motor rebuilding and it'll be fine.

Plus the obligatory re-spray :(

It's just an pain because i have a broken foot so cant drive up the road to his, and he now has no car to drive up the road to get me to work on it lol.

We'll be cracking on later this week I hope.

One of the pluses is i'd been wondering how i was going to repair the bodged handbrake lever mount, now i can just cut the bit of tunnel out of Sid to do the job. Same goes for a couple of areas that need work.

Jon.

Ouch! glad he got out ok but I would be seriously annoyed at him!
Is he going to give your mate any cash or anything? Or is it just his car, his loss? The insurance wont be of any use I am guessing as it wasnt on the road and him driving. I think I would have him owe me a car!

Think Raymond's going to take out a loan to pay Skip back The, at least, £2k the car is worth. It owes him about £3k for the restoration and the repairs so we'll have to see.

We're busy trying to price up whats needed for the Mayfair at the minute.

Jon.

Thats fair but it should be like for like. What ever an identical car costs to replace the damaged one, thats the amount he should get a loan for. I dont know if he would get a similar car for £2k would he?
