They need lense cleaners, but this only means washers, so a simple washer jet would suffice, and could be plumbed in with the standard washer jets.
But as has already been said there are a lot of people running aftermarket HID kits without self levellers or lense cleaners which don't get picked up because they aren't rated over 6000k so they remain a white light. I guess this is just anther one of those "is it a risk your willing to take" kind of things

I think the MOT regs are changing in regards to the HID conversions.

• There will NOT be a total ban on the use/sale of aftermarket HID kits, which was a major part of the proposal. The current MOT rules state

High Intensity Discharge (HID) and LED dipped beam headlamps (whether original fitment or after-market) must be fitted with a headlamp washing system (a wiper is not required) and be self levelling. This may be achieved by the use of either headlamp or suspension levelling systems. However, some high performance vehicles fitted with HID headlamps that have limited luggage space and stiff suspension do not require a self-levelling system.

Therefore, In my opinion, I could fit HID's to my own mini.
My suspension has been stiffened up, there's not exactly any load space in a mini, and I won't have a rear seat bench. It would be easy to fit washer jets below the lights, and fit another washer bottle on a switch for the cleaning of the lights.

It'll be down to the MOT tester to deem whether or not your luggage carrying and suspension meets the requirements needed.

As long as the light unit is for use with HID's then yep it does seem that way.

a lad at my work just had his mot license practical test and used his own corsa which has 6000k hids in and we asked the vosa tester when he was checking the headlamp aim about hid kits and he said as long as there the right colour and in the correct level you cant fail them...
