its a fantastic looking pick up that has been personalised and restored to very good standard.
however pls dont consider selling it as is or u will get very little money being offered.
finish it and enjoy it.
insure it for as high an amount as you can afford to pay for the premium and try to get an agreed value.

Trust me you would get more for the car if it restored to original spec including the engine.

joker,
dan you will get an agreed value on this fr £6,000 min!
if i was a mk1 S or even and early van then yea standard i better,
but this is only pickup which only makes it as valuable as the buyer makes it.
there are still lots out there

Insurance valuations do not imply market value. The value is what someone is prepared to pay for it - simple.
I have a solid 1976 1275 GT that you could insure on a classic policy or simular. Pretty standard so the insurance will be kind.
We could work out a deal where you keep some of the trick bits off your pickup and work out a deal?

Other member seem to have been quotes of under a grand or so aged 17 even on 1275's....
Worst comes to a worse why not just drop a stage 1 1000 lump in it for the first year and then save the bigger engine for when you can afford the insurace...
