I've now got round to fitting them - but I broke my camera lens so they're off the phone I'm afraid!

So I took Lulu up to the garage....not big enough.......

And I ripped out the old seats and door cards (for sale - PM me!) and cleaned the carpets!

Posted Image

I also got bin bottoms, arch covers and bin surrounds, but because the seatbelt reels were in the way - I had to slightly modify them.....

Posted Image

And fitted the rears, rear door cards, bin bottoms, arch covers and bin covers.....

What do you think?????? I'll get some better pictures soon.

Hope you likey!!

I bought a set of walnut door cappings in the MiniSpares Vat free week last year. I've just pre-drilled the holes for them:

Update!

Changed the core plugs, one took a few times to seal properly. But (touch-wood), they seem to have sealed up nicely!

I've got my gawgeous front seats fitted too!

I've been Pm'd a few times about how they fit and the frames I have made, so here goes my explanation...

I welded a beam to the front of the runners at 90 degrees, this way there was a bar running the full length of the cross-member.

To support the rears I welded a small piece of box section to the outer runner and another to the inner runner. However, due to the exhaust tunnel, the inner box section was modified to create a triangular piece to fit round the tunnel. I then ran a bar between these box sections for additional support.

Posted Image

To secure them, I used 3 tech-screws drilled straight into the cross-member and another drilled through the floor into the beam joining the outer and inner box sections.

I'll upload the pics of the fronts later.

Much love,

T.

Here we go!

I love them. They are a bit of a tighter fit than my old Mini 30 seats, but there is more than enough room.

It's taken me a couple of days to adjust to the new driving position, but they have lumbar support and are a damn sight more comfy than my old seats.

Not my kinda mini, but I have to say it looks very comfy and cosy!

That garage is tiny, how do you cope?! :D

Thank you!

I agree that the whole sportspack shape can be a bit choice.

I've seen a couple of minis over Melton way this week, was it you?

It's only the garage for a few more weeks, then it becomes a grain store! But not to worry, we've got 4 more free! :)

Love the thread. The seats look great and are a great idea.

If you have not finished then please keep the updates going.

Good luck and enjoy the car.

Crikey.

I know I've been around the world for 8 months, but I have forgotten about TMF! :S

I've got some updates to make.

But the best thing so far is that Lulu is in this months MiniWorld! :D

AND I won the prize this month. So pleased!

So, after a serious hiatus (i.e. work :-\ ) I'm back working on Lulu.

Although the bodywork is all done, and the seats, its time for a little performance upgrade....Had a little visit to MED last week, expensive, but it'll be worth it!

This weekends job is the 12v socket ready for my CB and my towing eyes.

All primed and drying:

Nice christmas gifts (to myself):

No wonder my foglight never worked when it came to the MOT:
