I've been meaning to start modelling a Mini for sometime now, mainly so I can drive my car around in GTAIV :D.

However I've now got another reason I need to get a decent model of a Mini made, but I'll keep that to myself until i've something to show off.

You can follow as this develops in this thread .

What are you using to make that? Blender, 3DS Max?

Nice work by the way .

Are poorly spaced panels going to be an item like they are on a real mini? Looks good though

I'm using 3ds Max .

Thanks for the comments guys.

Poor panel gaps goes beyond what I'm aiming for with this, rust however will be making an appearance :D.

I have an autocad model kicking around somwhere where I mapped all of the suspension and subframe mount points in 3d space.....no body work, but might help with aligning stuff if you want a copy ?

Roofless that'd be fantastic!

It'd help in making sure I get the scale of everything correct. The blueprints I'm working off at the moment are a bit useless at best.

It's been nearly a year since I posted this! Haven't had alot of time to mess about with stuff like this lately.

Anyway, done some more work on it:

The polygon placement and distribution is awful but I'll get the overall shell done and then go around modifying and optimising where neccesary. As I think I mentioned in my first post, I've got a project in the works which will utilise this model so it needs to be good.

Feedback always welcome!

How do you play it on GTA4? Or is it like a wierd PC version?

Cheers tonik2k, I'm looking to get the model as accurate as I can. If you see anything that looks wrong, let me know! :genius:

It's not a weird version, it's just the PC version. If any versions should be considered weird its the console versions as GTA originated on the PC. :D

It takes some coding but you can put it in the game. Whether or not this is still the plan remains to be seen as I've not played GTA4 in a long while! I might play more if I can get chased by the cops in a Mini though :D. We'll see.

Been a while since I did any work on this but I did some tonight so here's another progress picture for you guys:

Still pretty rough, plenty of bits that need more attention but I want to get the overall shape done before I go back and work on the bad bits.

Did a bit more tonight, then I got bored and started playing with rendering. Here's what I've got so far:
