okay this is not forced induction but was unsure where to post it but basically i was getting fed up with my mini sucking hot air from the back of the engine bay so i took a trip to our local breakers yard sorced a piece of pipe an a induction cone an it make loads of difference the cold air feed from the front makes the engine alot more reponsive  well happy with the result from a £2 piece of pipe an a £12 air filter

If you've not already done it then seperating the standard cast inlet & exhaust manifolds would see a bigger gain I would think.

iv got an lcb exhaust so yes its seprate an yes it does make the car more responsive as its getting cooled air feed in sted of sucking hot air of the engine :D i am very happy with the change especaily with it only being a 998 :)

Do you realise you still have an open port on the standard airbox, normally used for the oil breather pipe? you can see it on the first picture you posted.

Surely fitting an K&N filter and new carb needle would be more beneficial?

there is an oil breather on the side of the airfilter box, and without a filter in the airfilter box, it goes stright into the carb from the engine bay.

that breather pipe is bunged up from the inside its been fibreglassed over so the only air coming in is threw the air filter an is being filtered :teehee:
