Fitting Spotlight Brackets

i have some brackets like these:

I have them fitted with just the welded on stud part, through the hole in the bumper lip, how can you fit a bolt to the part that sits under the grill? I couldn't figure out how the nut would be put on if I drilled a hole for a bolt. I couldn't see how I could get in behind it to tighten it, I think part of the subframe sits there.
any pointers for me?

I used rivnuts for mine, then bolted them in...

it is possible to get in there, i taped a washer to a not and sat it in the socket and use a few socket extensions. real pain but it does work........eventually!!

i might have a look for some rivnuts then, seem like the easier way
