my mini came with a black grill.

But it also has the opening for an external bonnet release, I want an MK5 grille effectively, they never made them in black .

I'm pretty certain I'm going black grille with a chrome surround . Just need to get the car in a state where it's ready for a grille now!

If you find two, maybe you can remove the slat with the opening and replace it with a shortened slat from another black grille. IIRC they'r just riveted onto the grill's frame.

And yes, black looks best, in my opinion. Less is more or something like that

That's a very good point Jan, but it would mean buying two grills. I've already ordered the chrome one, which I will then paint black I think. It also means I can try it out in chrome for a while first .

Yeah that's what I was thinking Jan, I think if I made all the chrome orange it'd just be too much. I want the car personalised to myself (hence the orange) but still remain subtle(ish). Hehe.

Carlzilla, I know what you're saying. Not sure how it'd look gloss really. Hey, if it doesn't look right I'm sure I could sell it and buy another!

The Orange Grille would work if you Oranged the headlight surrounds so have a look on photoshop. and maybe with a thin orange line in the wheels or something just try do something noones done before but anyway your mini looks great as it is now and can only get better.

ive got pearlescent orange mirrors although i now have a mk1 grp bonnet, painted with blackboard paint on, lol
