I have just got a set of 6x10 wellers that are in need of a little refurb, there nothing too bad just little bit of paint peal and tiny bits of rust,

i was just wondering what is the best way to get rid of the paint and rust and what is the best paint to use after

a few picture's so you can see what im on about. :-

depends if you want to do it with the tyres still on or not,
if you can have the tyres off i would strip the whole wheel down, prime and spray. then get the decals remade by somone on here.
if you want to just touch if up try and get a tin of paint mixed up from the original color and patch it in with a brush.

any automotive paint will work. most spray paints will stick to metal, providing it is well preped.
mine were in far worse condition than yours and they look like this now.

To do it properly, remove the tyres, get them sandblasted, then either get them powder coated, or etch prime them, prime with high build primer, then paint with 2k paint. Any decent vinyl company will be able to reproduce the decals, try roofless! it would be an idea to take pictures and measurements of the existing ones before sending them to be blasted.

Ok cool, how would you advise taking off the tyres. and also where can i get the etch primer and 2k paint, i have a sandblaster at work so i can do that there, i was thinking of getting them powdercoated but i read on here on a previous post that i can chip quite easily.

Cheers

Jack

get the tyres off at a tyre shop. its pretty tricky without the corect tools and your likely to bend the rim.
i wouldnt powder coat them as its pretty hard to touch up if you get any chips. just get them sprayed
