I am also interested to here your opinion about the SC con rods (I know it was a while ago...)

I use there rods in my 1460 track car, revs it's nuts off and it's never been a problem. YET

Their rods (up until very recently) are re-branded maxspeeding. I have a set in both engines, here's what I found:

 

1) If you're running standard 1275 bore, you'll need to file the edges of the big end to get them in.

2) They come with genuine ARP bolts

3) They were within 0.05g of each other, and most times even less on the individual small end/big end weights.

4) Peening was linear all round.

I run a set of their rods and one off their early pre-production cranks,

 

I went for their rods after having a cam belt go which wiped out a set of A+ rods, ( the cap took a swipe out of the rods),  after weighing up the price of sourcing a set of A+ rods and getting them worked/ balanced and fitting ARP's, the SC rods came our cheaper so I went with those, (incidently they miss the cam  as will other H beam rods), they art le lightest rods, but dimensionally they are all good, and nicely finished.

the crank I have had through a few builds, and it seems very durable, Ive worn out A series cranks, but the bearing surfaces on these are still mint, its obviously much harder than a 1505 crank, a proper hardened "turbo" crank may be just as good though.
